Assistant Director for Program Administration

 

The INTERLINK Language Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking an Assistant Director. The primary responsibilities of the position include assistance with program administration, curriculum oversight, staff training & support, liaison work with various departments at the University, and acting as head of the program in the absence of the Director.

Candidates should have:

·         Demonstrated leadership skills in program administration, team and community building

·         A strong supervisory and teacher-training background, preferably at a University IEP

·         A genuine commitment to the visions and philosophies of INTERLINK and the University where internationalization is a key component of its strategic plan

·         A strong commitment to the transformation of those visions into reality

·         Demonstrated scholarship (particularly in SLA and L-2 learning theories)

·         Work experience with project-based curriculum and experiential learning

·         Proficiency in a second language (at least 5 on a scale of 1-7)

·          Awareness of cross-cultural training models and experience in cross-cultural training; experience and ability to work with individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds

In addition, candidates must have:

·         A Master’s or preferably a PhD degree specifically in TESL or Applied Linguistics

·         A minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably to academically bound adults

Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with qualifications. Benefits include medical insurance and 401k retirement plan.
